Please, someone get a civil union, we`re waiting...

This pictured gay couple campaigned for the civil union bill. Did they get a civil union? No, they didnt...and they are typical of a lot of campaigners for the civil union legislation. Their money is not where their mouth was.

The pandered minority has run out. While 30,000 people got married, there were just 362 civil unions - which is fewer than the amount of civil unions in the first day civil unions were permitted in the UK. Fewer than half of the NZ civil unions were in the past six months. Some civil union celebrants are not renewing their licences as they can't find anyone who wants a civil union.

Try going overseas. Or do it yourselves.

No Right Turn states that this legislation was pandering to a minority. What he doesn't say is the identity of that minority.Perhaps he`ll write a comment here.

But he is hopelessly wrong when he says that a "small minority of religious bigots felt that they had exclusive ownership of marriage, which they believed would somehow be "debased" if they had to share it with others."

In fact its "a nonsense".

The reason why marriage was not extended to gay couples is because Labour didn't want to lose the election. That is all. Religious bigotry didn't even come into it.

C`mon you gay couples, get a civil union. Yes you two And you two. This was all designed especially for you just because you demanded it.

So they shouls have to geet civil unioned because you say so?

The legislation was about choice. Thet doesn't give you the right to compel someone to do something.

I demanded it too - and I'm getting married in 11 days. Or should I be forced to have a civil union too?
