Another Cabinet Minister assault - but not charged

Another Dunedin Cabinet Minister, after David Benson-Pope has been deemed by the police to have committed assault. Hodgson has claimed that he touched Madeline Flannagan to prevent her assaulting the PM. The police thought this claim was stupid.

Look, Hodgson should not be charged. But he should be honest with his statements and he shouldnt have tried to wriggle out of it. He should have admitted that he touched Ms Flannagan because he wanted her protesting placard out of sight of the TV cameras during an election campaign.

But then, truth is something that Cabinet Ministers seen to lack at the moment. Does any one know of any cabinet minister that has been consistently honest throughout the past year or two? Could that be the reason why Tim Barnett is not a cabinet minister - he doesnt tell lies -well at least openly.

Miss Clark is butch enough to look after herself. She doesn't need Hodgson to come to her aid.
