Carbon tax = Fart tax

Theres only one reason why the Government " dumped" carbon tax. It would not have got through Parliament as it didnt have the support. Just like the fart tax. Yet the Government says it is still committed to meeting its obligations under the Kyoto Protocal. "Committed" is the correct word. When you are "committed" to doing something like this, it means that you dont really do it at all, just sound like you may do it, but dopnt say how, just in case you have to keep your word. Just like Helen Clark said quite a while back that she was committed to see that there were no golden executive handshakes.

Cullen is so angry that this has knocked a $350m hole in the coffers that he has he has threatened to reverse the 67c tax increase as well. We`re not getting that increae until 2008 anyway.

Well, all that effort to promote that great budget and a 67c tax cut only to have it reversed. Never mind that the extra tax taken due to petrol costs would probably cover the 67c until 2008.
