David Benson-Pope is dickhead of the week
As I was away during the weekend I didnt get a chance to do the dickhead deed - but Benson Pope is probably the biggest dickhead in Parliament. He has lied in Parliament,( again) then denied that he lied, but has now been found outif the Police are to be believed.
Benson-Pope denied in Parliament that he assaulted a boy or two when he was a teacher, but the police have decided not to prosecute because they dont think it is in the public interest to do so, even though they believe that he committed the assault. Since when has a decision to prosecute someone who has committed a crime - in this case, assault - been based on the lack of public interest? Can Wayne "eradicator" Mapp do something about this? Will Rodney Hide lay a complaint to the privileges committee if he is not going to go down the PC eradicator line? Why is it only acceptable for Labour Cabinet Ministers to lie in Parliament?
The next time I commit a crime, I trust I`ll get off as it would not be in the public interest to prosecute. What a pity David Benson-Pope wasn't a Catholic Priest, hed have been charged for sure.
updateRodney is to lay the complaint of DBP lying to the House. What's the bet that speaker Margaret Wilson will block it to protect one of her own. She`ll be dickhead of the week soon, I expect.
And just to indicate that there is one rule for senior ministers and one rule for everybody else, source
