Loganed and Littericked
This is not a good look for the Maxim Institute's Bruce Logan. Particularly after his daughter has been fired from the Press for the same reason. Writing columns and articles that include other people's work. Its called plagarism.
I uderstand Mr Logan will be releasing a statement regarding this on the Maxim website first thing tomorrow. I see also that Mr Tips has put Paul Litterick from the Fundy Post through the wringer of copyscape to see if he can identify plagarism in Litterick's Fundy Posts.
But although Mr Litterick hasn't uplifted whole paragraphs from other articles, and has generally attributed, he has
slipped up a bit hereas you can see from this article which Mr Liiterick lifts not just one sentence, but four.
And in Fundy Post issue 15 Litterick comments on lesbian Christian author Tammy Bruce, who recently visited New Zealand. He approves of lesbianism but not Christianity and so he is quite fascinated by her. Unlike this writer, he has never met or spoken with Bruce. He says Tammy Bruce:
is also the author of The Death of Right and Wrong, in which she "takes you inside the chilling world of the Left - a place where morals and decency have been turned on their heads and the crisp definition between Right & Wrong has been blurred into a mushy, grey mess." Apparently, "in this world, the Gay Elite exploit our children - under the guise of tolerance and education - to satisfy their sexual obssessions...the Black Elite laud convicted murderers as community heroes and award-winning "artists"...the Feminist Elite..." According to Ian Wishart's well-adjusted magazine, Investigate, Tammy Bruce believes there is "a deliberate desire to spread AIDS wider into the community and, perversely increase the virgin power of the gay lobby
You would think that the last sentence of Litterick's well adjusted article referred to Investigate Magazine, but no, the whole thing was pinched from a book review on the Investigate website, Here's the bit that was quoted, but not attributed. He says Tammy Bruce
takes you inside the chilling world of the Left - a place where morals and decency have been turned on their heads and the crisp definition between Right & Wrong has been blurred into a mushy, gray mess. In this world, the Gay Elite exploit our children - under the guise of tolerance and education - to satisfy their sexual obssessions. The Black Elite laud convicted murderers as community heroes and award-winning "artists". In this world, the Feminist Elite fawn over a woman who mercilessly killed all five of her children."
I thought Mr Litterick was pretty hot on attribution. Perhaps not. I'm sure there's more examples of this sort of carry on, but I haven't got as much time as Litterick. I have a day job.
UPDATE The Herald has done a story on Logan's attribution. Now will they do one on the Fundy Post.
update 2 Logan has released a statement. It includes this sentence:" This has not, however, been done with any deliberate attempt to misquote or mislead. The work I am engaged in is debating and promoting ideas and in this I freely acknowledge I owe much to the work of others"
At least Logan tries to debate and promote ideas rather than take the piss out of all and sundry like Litterick spends a lot of time and energy doing.

Fundy Post 12; I proceeded the passage I quoted with the statement: "An analysis of the case is available at http://censorware.net/reports/xstop/" You won't find that sort of attribution in Logan's work.
Fundy Post 12; The first rule of life is: just because it is on the interweb doesn't make it real. I quoted from the print edition of Investigate, April 2004, page 35 from an article called The Little Red Schoolbook.
If you look at the Investigate website page you linked, you will see it is not a review, but the blurb from the covers of the book. Those words might be in the book itself or Wishart might be misattributing them in the print article.
As you say, I am hot on attribution.
Sorry, the second paragraph should say Fundy Post 15.
By the way, your links to the Post pages are the wrong way round.
Paul comment 1, no you wont find that sort of attribution on Logans work. When Logan attributes, he does it properly and quotes the URL directly, not indirectly as you did in this pearticular case.
compare your attribution

with what shouldh alve been attributed

so, not too hot are you..
I have a day job as well: I hunt fundies.
I agree Dave - your post is really bang on the money!
I think that there is a real problem with the way people can cut and paste on the internet, and Paul gives a perfect example of that on his comment. Even he is not sure where some of his stuff comes from.
I'm not saying Bruce needs to tighten up. One is going to tell him that if possible.
But he isn't a plagiarist, neither is Paul Litterick.
Honesty however, is another matter.
sorry, I meant to say in the last comment
"I'm not saying that Bruce doesn't need to tighten up" etc.
(off-topic) Hi Dave.
If you're still following the rape case involving the 17 year old at Philipstown School, check this

Dave, that's pathetic. Both URLs work. Grow up.
Cheers,
