Te Wananga O Aotearoa - supporting the whanau
It's interesting taking a look at the web site of the University of Aotearoa. One of the mission statements for Te Wananga O Aotearoa is to empower ones’ potential for learning as a base for progress in modern world
They`ve obviously left the third to last word out.
And over here we find out what makes the university unique.
The Wananga grading system reflects it's view that there is no failure, only a 'yet to achieve' status. Everyone is treated as a PERSON who is EQUAL, not just a number.
More often than not, you'll find that you've got the support of whanau (family) inside this organisation anyway.
Hey, you`ve got support from whanau outside the organisation as well, to assit you to be a "yet to achieve" organisation. From Question time thanks to Rodney Hide.
Hon Ken Shirley: What is the Minister’s response to the situation whereby the large corporate fleet of wananga cars is exclusively groomed by a company called Gazza’s Groomers, which is owned and operated by Gary Wood, who just happens to be the partner of the wananga’s deputy chief executive, Min Marshall?
Hon TREVOR MALLARD: I think that we have another thing to add to our list of things that the Auditor-General is looking at
And that’s not all From TVNZ.
Shirley claims some wananga executives are using shelf companies to benefit themselves and family. He told the House the wananga, headed by Rongo Wetere, contracted Oma Investments - a registered company - to supply phones and clothing used by the wananga to attract students.
Directors of Oma include Rongo Wetere and family members William and Kingi Wetere.
Yep, the support of the whanau is there all right. After all the Government has dished out $239 million dollars to be spent on 15,000 mobile phones, free laptops for completing courses, and 350 cars that are groomed by the company owned by the partner of the deputy chief executive . Not to mention the phones provided by the company directed by the University's chief executive. Isn`t that a conflict of interest? The money given to these hungry money-grabbing Maori is more than all the other universities.
And it's nothing short of disgusting. Another Maori tax-payer funded rip off, with nobody accountable.

What do you expect.
The Labour caucus are pushing through policies without a mandate from the whole of NZ.
that's dishonest and without integrity.
how can one expect them to hold anyone else accountable?
best
Mike
