Police arrive late - really! That’s unusual - not!

A newspaper heading of Police arrive late is hardly news, but when police take 35 minutes to attend a noisy demonstration at a parliamentary committee sitting, and the Police Minister makes a "please explain" request, you get the feeling that he has a bit of an idea of what the rest of us minnows think of the police - but don’t have the power to make a "please explain" request when the cops don’t turn up at all.

I have plenty of "please explain" requests I could make of George Hawkins.
