getting a round tuit
The Select committee report to the Care of Childrens Bill is now not due to June 30. A few complications. A few things to iron out. Haven't got around to it yet.
What that really means is that the Labour and Green select committee members support the bill, while Act doesn't like it as there is no shared parenting provisions and NZ First and United Future just don't like it. National don't like it because of this and NZ First MP Dail Jones has also spoken out publicly against the bill.
Although select committee reports are not binding on the Government, and most submissions can be ignored - as what happened with the Supreme Court bill - and the Families Commission bill, which didn't define what a family was - you`d think they`d draft the bills properly so that there is agreement and so that there is not too much to change or disagree on.
I`ll be posting my report once the select committee report is online.
