South Park can't show image of Mohammed, but can show Jesus defecating on President Bush

How inconsistant is that? Why is it permissable to show this, the Bloody Mary episode, and offend Christianity, but pull a rerun of an episode that mocks Scientology, and blank out images of Mohammed. That is inconsistant treatment of religion, primarily by Comedy Central. No wonder Christians, particularly Catholics, are pissed off.

The other night in the US, South Park tried to show an image of Mohammed and it was censored by Comedy Central, presumably because it might prompt Muslim extremists to go on a murder spree. This is especially ironic, since Mohammed has already appeared in a South Park episode back in 2001.

Here is Mohammed in that episode.

The executive decides to strike a blow for free speech and agrees to show Mohammad again. But at the point where Mohammed is to be seen, the screen is filled with the message: "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network."

It is followed shortly by images of Christ, Bush and the American flag.

To TV networks, freedom of religion depends on whether a bunch of people are likely to go on a murder spree? So Christians who want to protest have to riot and kill people to be noticed? Of course they won't - they understand free speech more.

Does that make Christianity more tolerant than Islam - or does that indicate that most Christians are either more tolerant or more apathetic than some Muslims.
