ODT Easter editorial written by a Muslim

The editorials in our metropolitian papers on Easter are pathetic.

The NZ Herald's one is written by someone who doesn't know too much about the Christian story - comparing redemption to rehabilitation. Adolf from Sir Humphreys clarifies things:
Redemption has a clear meaning in religious terms. Christ is said to have sacrificed his human life for the sake of everyone, so that (sins) may be forgiven and a faithful life may earn an eternal reward.

For the information of the ignorant editorial writer, the central theme of Christianity has it that forgiveness is granted by the grace of God with nothing asked in return other than the recipient show repentence (genuine remorse, in today's parlance) and believe in God
The Otago Daily Times editorial (not online) is written by someone who doesn't even observe Easter - a Muslim. It is a guest editorial by Javed Khan, the President of the Islamic Federation of New Zealand, who promotes Islam as a religion of peace. If anyone wants to see it I can email it.

What he didn't do was quote this from the Koran.
Sura 4:154-158. "They denied the truth and uttered a monstrous falsehood against Mary. They declared, "We have put to death the Messiah Jesus the son of Mary, the apostle of Allah. They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did"
What's wrong with getting Christians to write these things.Don`t any Christians live in Otago?

Muslims do believe in Jesus as a messenger of God, but don't consider him the son of God, or believe in salvation by faith in God. As long as we are " people of faith" we`re Okay.

I wonder if when Ramadan or Halloween rolls around, the ODT will get a Christian to write the guest editorial.
