AIDS Foundation is powerless to prevent HIV

The AIDS Foundation is supposed to promote safe sex. But it appears that the message is only falling on the ears of those who already have HIV and/or support the work of the foundation.

For everyone else its message appears to be irrelevant or invisible. HIV disgnoses have hit an an all time high mainly due to men having sex with other men in Auckland. And who is surprised?

The AIDS Foundation says the most effective motto is "no condoms, no sex". It's wrong. It should at least advise gay men to have sex with fewer than two people - ie, just their committed partner. HIV positive gay men - including those with committed partners - who sleep around like they change their socks are the people who fuel the increase in HIV infection, and as the AIDS Foundation continues to be happy with this, it should lose its funding, because clearly, that funding is going down the toilet.

The fact is that no homosexuals have save sex unless they have by themselves. I am a regular blood donor. Each time I donate blood I fill out a form. I am asked if I have had sex with another man in the last ten years even using a condom. If I answer yes they will not take a chance on my blood. If I am a heterosexual they not do ask if I have used a condom.

The AIDS Foundation promotes unsafe sex. Fact: homosexual sodomy is unsafe regardless if a condom is used. The promotion of this unsafe practice by the AIDS Foundation is the reason for the record high rate if HIV.

Putting homosexual militants in charge of determining the sexual health policy of New Zealand is about as sensible as putting paedophiles in charge of a kindergarten.

World Vision has a great programme in Africa called ABc: (Abstinence, Be faithful and condomize as a last resort). We could use something like that here...

AIDS cycle ends in Mozambique
Governor of Tete, Tomas Mandlate, saluted the initiative as a way of encouraging all those involved in the fight to stop the impact of the pandemic. ... The Governor also hailed World Vision's 'ABc' (Abstinence, Be faithful and condomize as a last resort) approach.

World Vision Mozambique's Health Director, Dr Omo Olupona urged people to act responsibly. "Our children are having to grow up without knowing their parents. Who will build our infrastructures if our engineers are dying?" he asked.

Uganda's experience of the ABc programme is a success story:
Uganda has succeeded in taming the virus. According to an academic study commissioned by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and released last July, the country of 24 million is "considered to be one of the world's earliest and best success stories in overcoming HIV." The share of Ugandans with the disease dropped from 15 percent in 1991 to 5 percent in 2001, according to the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS.

It's called ABC and not CBA for good reason.

I find it rather disturbing that the homosexual’s of this country portray the illusion to our young people in our schools that homosexuality is a harmless alternative. It is estimated that 30% of all 20-year old males involved in homosexual behaviour will contract or die from AIDS by the age of 30 (Clinical Psychiatry News, October 1994). I would suggest this figure to be of a higher % in 2006 as the recent increase in New Zealand people diagnosed with HIV indicates. Tragically it is a sad indictment that Children are being born with the fatal disease much to the shock of a distraught mother. What chance do the innocent Children have against such a deadly disease? Why is the Ministry of Health thinking of blood testing all pregnant mothers? At least the people who extract blood know the dangers associated with homosexuality. Incredulously at the same time vulnerable and innocent Children throughout our Country are being told that it is a harmless lifestyle. I am no rocket scientist, however I can’t help thinking that somebody has got things seriously wrong here which leads me to my serious concerns for the Children of this Country.

Dave, the problem is that if the AIDS Foundation folded due to lack of funding who would determine sexual health policy? If it were the Ministry of Health we would have the same problem. Anyone employed by this government to advice on sexual health must sing from the same hymn book as the homosexual lobbyist or they will not get or keep a job. This is just like smacking. Anyone working in Commissioner of Children’s office must be anti-smacking.
