Labour lies that we are awaiting an apology for

After the left has roasted Don Brash and accused him of lying - an accusation in itself that is a lie - it is timely to point our some real likes by real people which are a lot worse than Brash did or didnt say. Here are the top six lies. Six is a nunber that could be said to be associated with the Labour party.

"I wasn’t aware that we were speeding" Helen Clark after her motorcade trip
You're not wrong - What Helen Clark told the Sunday Star Times regarding Doone gate

But lying is not just restricted to our Glorious Leader. Her senior ministers are also lying.

"No. They didn't discuss it with me". - Lianne Dalziel before she got the short shift.

"I repeat that no one is migrating from the Unemployment Benefit through to the Invalids Benefit." Steve Maharey ( that means he said it a least twice).

"Maxim Institute gets its funding from right wing US conservative parties" Benson - Pope

Not only does Dr Lockwood Smith and Dr Brash want the policy to be written in Washington but they want Washington to do their work for them" Phil Goff

These are just the outright lies - not the lies that you would call "sins of omission"

And one error of judgement by Don Brash - that he apologised for - got more coverage than any party policy all week. He did not lie.

The only thing common that our Aussie and NZ PM's have in common is that they don’t know how to say sorry.

And there area few other silly statements not becoming of a Prime Minister. Like this pearler "By definition I cannot leak"

And this:
The Iraq war would not have happened if Democrat Al Gore had won the presidency" Our glorious leader again.

If Don Brash is not fit to become Prime Minister, Helen Clark should be applying for the sickness benefit.

Excellent post Dave. It serves to remind that we all are imperfect (what a surprise!!!). What we should be focusing on in this Election is the policies of the parties. Policies, when put into action are more important. Actions are always more reminicent of character. Everybody can make a mistake when saying something (once again, what a surprise!!!).

Having said that, it is important to look at what a politician says, as it does reveal part of who they are. But I would be horrified if I was judged on what I said alone, rather than what I said and did.

Matthew.

One more big lie that Helen told is that National started the rumour that she is a lesbian.

That rumour was going around labour circles long before she became laader and became more public thanks to disgruntled Mike Moore supporters after she rolled him.
