if it makes you happy

Most people are not happy with the election result, or didn’t know if they were, that is.How many?Well under 300 people accordingto teh latest survey, so its no big deal as the survey only interviewed 400.

Most were happy with MMP. Most wouldn't change their party vote if another election was held. This poll is a bit like polling a rugby crowd asking them if they are happy with the score with 20 minutes to go. The final whistle hasn't gone. Specials don’t get counted until 1 October.

Meanwhile the Sunday Star Times reports on a survey of 1000 people noting that 63 percent of Labour voters want a coalition with the Greens. That means that most people do not want the Greens in Government.

Asked which party held views closest to their own on the issues that voters felt were important to them personally, only 26% named Labour. Similarly, asked which party's views were closest to their own regarding New Zealand's "single most important problem", only 19% named Labour. The SST article also noted that only 40 percent of people think MPs are "in touch with the rest of the country"

The Herald notes that 36.5 percent were happy with the election outcome and than nearly 40 percent would be happy with a Government with the Greens. Nearly 40 percent think that we will not have a stable government.

This may well mean that some people think that a government with the Greens will provide a stable government - but most don’t think it will happen. But if it does happen, most New Zealanders would consider their views at odds with the views of the Governing parties. Thats understandable, the Greens havent won any seats. Since when should a party end up in Government with nobody from that party representing an electorate in Parliament? The Greens are only in Parliament because of MMP.No other reason. The Jim Anderton Progressive party is there because Jim Anderton hasn't joined Labour. He is an Independant MP under a party banner to get extra funding.

No wonder voters are not happy. Many have voted for parties they don’t believe in, and are now supporting the formation of a coalition that they believe won't last, made up of people they don’t think are in touch with mainstream New Zealand, and possibly containing a party most don't know even exists - Jim Anderton's Progressive. Many did not vote for their favoured party, they voted for the lesser of the two(or three or seven) evils.

And a high proportion of these voters appear to have voted Labour -and would do so if another election was held.

I can't vote Labour as they are dead set on restructuring society away from it's Judeo-Christian roots.
The oeverall thruist of what they are doing goes against that ethos.

If I voted for them knowing that then I would be a hypocrite in saying I was a Christian and followed Jesus Christ.

essentially I would be calling God a liar.
That to me is a salvation issue as it goes to the core of your relationship with Him.

how can one put one's trust in an individual and then say that the set up he said is the best for society isn't so.

Worse when you knowingly say that man made forms are better than His.

Especially so when they advocate behaviours and life choices that deliberately go against what He has said is acceptable to Him.

and then you expect to spend eternity with Him.

there's a disconnect here that isn't being talked about openly in the Christian and Jewish communities.

When one considers that 60% of population claim to be spiritual and 80% of those claim a Christian spirituality.
It shows a lack of thought as to the logical outcomes of that choice or of the voting choice.

or people don't actually know what they believe or sign up for.
either way it's an indicment on society per se.
