Being paid by the taxpayer to campaign for Labour

There are several reasons why the unions support Labour. Readers of Big News will be interested to know that almost all the Labour candidates that are not current MPs are either union officials or working for the state sector

A few mentions: Maryan Street is an employee relations manager for District Health Boards New Zealand. Shane Jones is a member of the Industry New Zealand Board and chairman of the Waitangi Fisheries Commission. Both are high on the list. David Talbot is the assistant to Marian Hobbs, and Tony Milne is the assistant to Tim Barnett and a PSA activist.

Interesting, too is that all but one of the above are gay. Well, David Lane of the Society for the Promotion of Community Standards would find that interesting. Two of the above are guaranteed seats in Parliament as they are high on the list.

There are candidates who are paid officials of the Nurses Union,, Service and Food Worker’s Union , a Finsec Organiser, and an employee of the Human Rights Commission.
.
Go to Insolent Pricks blog for the full list of people whom your taxes are paying their wages while they are campaigning for Labour.

Radio New Zealand support Labour. RNZ reporter Brent Edwards is the RNZ EPMU union man. Every one of his reports is pro- Labour. Yet EPMU secretary Andrew Little has said that RNZ journalists had no links with the organisations political activities.

Absolutely none.

Why do the unions support Labour? Because if National win the election, they lose up to $8 million dollars in taxpayer support over the next three years.

That's why. The support pays for education of union delegates to do courses such as "leading people", "workplace dignity" and a few Maori workshops.

Yeah, but at least they're honest
about what their organisational links are, unlike a certain recently outed fundamentalist sect.
