More on the bloggers and bombings
A British defense expert says Thursday's bombings in London were executed by at least 24 people and designed to mirror the 11 March bombings in Madrid last year.
The death toll in the tragedy is at least 50, with more than 700 injured . The Times have the story noticing that bloggers are insisting that Londoners will not be intimidated by the string of attacks on their city.
A blog We`re Not Afraid , has started up in the wake of the bombings. It contains pictures submitted by people all over the world. Here's a sample.
Further to yesterday's post, where I posted the Wikipedia translation of the Secret Organisation Group of Al-Qa'ida of Jihad Organisation in Europe, other countries have also been shaken up. Check this out, off the statement:
We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all the crusader governments that they will be punished in the same way if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan
It has subsequently been announced that Italy is withdrawing some troops from Iraq in September.
Also, a group calling itself the "Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades - European Division" has claimed responsibility for the "blessed battle of London" in a new statement published on an Internet website, according to the counter terrorism blog
This group has made three terrorism threats in the past couple of years, focussing on Belgium and London , as well as Italy and other European countries. Another Al Qaeda group has threatened to hit Rome. I may post more on all that later.
Should these Jihads be taken seriously? It’s a pity the UN Security Council doesn't do something about terrorism, other than written expressions from talking heads.
update - spooky triviaThe bombs went off within 50 seconds of each other. The official death toll is 49 and there are at least 25 missing people. Interestingly the attacks occurred 999 days after the Bali bombings. Why is that strange - well 999 is the UK's emergency telephone number. Also the bombs went off between 8:50 and 8:51am - 9 minutes to 9.
Coincidence?

Depends on what their ingress/egress plans were and what c3 cover they had.
It could have been 3 or more, I think the larger number unlikely.
Knowing that area of London it seems that m/bikes or buses would have been better for the tube planters to exit the area.
I suspect we'll find the bus was either that or a suicide.
On Thursday night British terror experts were on a plane going to Belgrade. It is known that if you bribe the right officers in the Serbian Army that you can buy your explosives from there. The terror experts were carrying with them samples of the explosives with the intention to probe their origin, and Belgrade seems a reasonable place to start.
Matthew.
I guess people will think Italy's removal of it's troops from Iraq will imunise it from terrorist attacks. Just as people think NZ's non-involvement in "the war on terror" immunises us? Yeah Right.
