how ACC treats the media
If you haven't already done so, read this post
It's a story of ACC dodginess. An ACC case manager forged her initials on a formal document but ACC refused to apoligise even when instructed by its Minister - well, until the media got involved, at least. It issued a statement to the media about an apology but to getthe media release you had to ask for it first and SIGN SOMETHING.
Most companies send out media releases to media outlets. ACC, it seems, forces all media outlets to sign privacy waivers before they receive media releases relating to certain cases.
This what happened to the several journalists. They signed privacy waivers to get the media release, then the media release only told half the story.
However, the claimant's advocate in this case had already faxed ACC advising that all media can have access to information relating the case. I know the date, the time it was sent and who it was sent to.
ACC has lost the fax. The person who received the fax told me he has no idea where it is - "probably somewhere in the filing out the back".
Typical, isn't it. Did they lose all the privacy waivers as well?
So, no chocky fishes to those of you who tried to guess the reason I didnt get the release - but a couple were close..

If they *accidentally* lost it, maybe they can make a claim on themselves?
