Summer Holidays

Just back from holiday. We finally got to have a holiday after a hard year. This year sounds like it is going to be even harder, with a bigger family, tough (or new) job and more study. It rained a lot on holiday so I read the Listener's Summer of Rock where they interviewed Brooke Fraser, Dave Dobbyn, Shayne Carter, Jordan Luck, and a few others. I've seen most of them live and have met half of them. Even know a few. They also interviewed Frankie Stevens. Good series of articles for a rainy day. I particularly liked the comment from Chris Knox who, when introduced to the music of Elvis Presley (Heartbreak Hotel) in 1957 says, "It was totally different to anything I`d heard before".

Umm…Chris was only four at the time. I wonder what his favourite song was at age two, and how different Elvis actually was to his earlier listening tastes.
