Dunne's opposition
Peter Dunne, once again, has some gay competition at the election. If I recall correctly, the candidate at the last election was Family Planning Association boss Gill Boddy- Greer, this time it is Wellington lawyer, and former chair of the NZ AIDS Foundation Charles Chauvel, who is standing for Labour in the Ohariu-Belmont electorate.
Of course, Peter Dunne will waltz home, no problems there. He outlined his his election platform this week and is promoting the family and stable government. He has noted that there is an increase in support for "moral values". Yet he is also right to say that the support for moral values is wider than subscribing to conservatism. Can you be a liberal or a socialist and support moral values?

I heard a rumour that Chauvel might step aside and recommend that people give Peter Dunne their electorate vote.
Wouldn't it be ironic if National people voted for Peter Dunne in 2002 and watched him prop up the Labour government, then Labour people vote for him this year and he allies with National?
MMP is a joke.
"Whose justice, Which Morality?"
