Still haven't found what they're looking for

U2 has lost some songs from their new album Vertigo after they went missing after a photo session in the south of France. Band members are worried it will turn up on the Internet, where songs could be downloaded illegally. They’ve called the cops.

French police have already launched a major investigation into the missing CD. So far detectives have interviewed more than 20 people, including hairdressers and photographers, who were at the photoshoot in the Victorine studios on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking to U2.com, Edge said, 'A large slice of two years work lifted via a piece of round plastic. It doesn't seem credible but that's what's just happened to us...and it was my CD.'

The band recently completed much of the recording of the highly anticipated new album in Dublin, and have been involved in post-production work in Nice.

It will be the first new studio album from U2 since All That You Can’t Leave Behind nearly four years ago. The CD contained tracks to be included on the album, the first in four years.
