Maori, Muslims, mates, and men

Have you watched Maori TV? If so, have you watched a whole programme? And have you watched the same programme in its entirety the following time it was screened?

THAT is the measure of Maori TV - not a 15 minute perv to see what it is like -and polled as "tuning in".

I`d say most people with a TV have "tuned in" to TV1 over the past four weeks or so. Funnily enough the Stuff poll says that most haven't tuned in at all. Perhaps they were too busy surfing the Internet.

It's sad that MP's have received hate mail regarding the Civil Union Bill. There's no excuse for that at all. Green MP Metiria Turei says she has received some violent and vicious email. That will explain her media release, then. I agree with No Right Turn that any bill opponents that describe gay peoples lifestyles as an "abomination" are not lobbyists, they are slagging off gay people, not targeting the bill (well that's not exactly what he said but I'm sure that’s what he meant). Two different issues. People are entitled to their views, but they could express them a little better - so could some MP's.

Some people should really grow up. Not all opponents of the bill are homophobes and bigots. There's also no excuse for Ashraf Choudhary to abstain from a conscience vote. At least he was in the country. The other two no -voters were out of the country. Choudhary is going to be known, not as the first Muslim MP in this country, but a no-hoper no-voter who doesn’t have the courage of his convictions and vote accordingly in case he pisses off the boss. I thought a conscience vote was a vote where you could piss off the boss. In any case, what's he doing in Labour if he doesn’t agree with any of its morality-related issues?

And it was great to see my old mates John and Des on the front page of the Dompost yesterday. Didn't they look dapper in those suits? It’s a pity student journo Patrick Crewsdon didn’t ask them where they got the suits from. Was it true that they got them from the Gay and Lesbian Fair? They must have good stuff there, then. Oh, and congratulations on your impending grandparenthood.

apparently the number of same sex couples is under-reported in the census. Yet some same sex couples do not live together. Most heterosexual couples do -apart from those who are going through a split. I would have thought that if you are a couple you would want to live together.
