ACT on ACC
Heather Roy has jumped on the ACC bandwagon moaning about the cost of the Corporations 30th birthday bash. She was also on Holmes stating that the priority for ACC is compensation and rehabilitation. Ask ACC, and managers will tell you it is in fact injury prevention. But, like ACC often does, the managers do not like talking to the media. In fact ACC managers are actually hostile towards the media. Thus the "chair of unavailability".
However, Heather Roy - who is the unelected MP who would probably be a candidate in my electorate next year - is less forthcoming about claimants who do not have their full and correct entitlements. She is more concerned on promoting her policies of the opening of competition to ACC. If she is really concerned on how ACC is operating, and how it is spending taxpayers money, why can' t she speak up for claimants that are not getting enetitlements they deserve? Why cant she speak out about the abuse of Individual Rehabilitation Plans that are designed to prevent claimants getting full and correct entitlement with NO RIGHT OF JURISDICTION at review. Why can't she speak out on claimants who do not have decisions at review in their favour honoured? Why can't she speak to Paul Holmes about case managers whose main aim is to kick claimants off ACC ( via biased assessments from friends who are medical providers ) so they can get KPI`s? Or ACC managers who have more interest in the rise - or fall - of the Corporations share portfolios than the claimants they are paid to assist.
Is it because there is no political advantage in doing so??
ACC has lost a lot of money on several of its share portfolio's over the past couple of years. Does Heather know that? Maybe not.
