considering the future
United Future's Gordon Copeland is thinking about his future already
Perhaps Dr David Rankin, General Manager ACC Healthwise, should be considering his as well over his comments regarding Alpha Consultant's nasal enemas and rehabilitative chanting, singing and screenings of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Rankin has told Alpha Consultants to stop offering nasal irrigation because a medical treatment was not an appropriate part of work preparation. But he defends the humming and laughter therapy.
He said " Before doing these courses they had all been on ACC for six months or more, had become dependent of ACC benefits and were showing no motivation at all about looking for a job or finding a job."
(in other words if you make 'em laugh they
will be more likely to find a job)
ACC benefits?? They are entitlements, not benefits. How much motivation did ACC show about getting the claimants rehabilitated? If they were rehabilitated they wouldn`t be on an ACC "benefit" - they`d transfer to a real DWI benefit, as many claimants eventually do once they are illegally kicked off ACC.
But get this from Rankin:
"People with serious injuries get into the habit of watching TV all day, getting up at midday, and lose the routine, lose some of their self presentation skills."
Does the General Manager of ACC Healthwise really believe that ACC claimants get up at midday, and those that get up earlier watch TV all day? Maybe he does, and thinks unemployed people get up at midday too.
Because thats how claimants are treated by ACC -as unemployed, not injured.
Who's in cuckoo-land?
